Services

I provide individual therapy to children, teens, and adults. A typical course of individual therapy begins with a 60-minute intake evaluation followed by weekly 50-minute sessions. For children and adolescents, the intake process includes a parent meeting and a child meeting.

Following the intake, we work together to determine a therapy cadence and estimated treatment duration that fits your needs and goals. Treatment plans are individualized based on the presenting concerns and revised as needed. When seeing children and adolescents for therapy, I work closely with parents and integrate family work as indicated.

Evidence-based therapy refers to psychological treatments proven by research studies to be effective for treating psychological problems.

I draw from evidence-based modalities in my clinical work and frequently integrate values to include a focus on increasing meaningful action in one’s life.

CBT, ACT, and DBT are some of the modalities I often use in treatment.

What is evidence-based therapy?

  • CBT is based on evidence that our thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are interconnected. This means that by changing your thoughts and behaviors, you can change the way you feel. CBT helps you learn to think and act in ways that help you feel better and get your closer to reaching your goals.

  • ACT is an evidence-based therapy that uses acceptance and mindfulness-based strategies to explore emotions, thought patterns, and experiences. ACT aims to increase psychological flexibility and help you engage in your life in ways that align with your values.

  • DBT teaches concrete, applied skills to help manage difficult emotions and impulse-driven behaviors in service of living a more balanced and values-aligned life. Skills include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. As comprehensive DBT programs require more intensive services than I can provide, I offer DBT-informed treatment and refer out for DBT skills group.
